via Radio Onda.

My name is Didier, born in 1957. Presenter in the 70s, I then hosted on one of the first "free" radio stations in Belgium, at the end of the 70s, beginning of the 80s. Having become a second manager of this local FM radio, negotiations were implemented to obtain news via a major newspaper. It was then that Mr D. suggested that The "chief" "buy out" the radio to become RFM. A few years later, RFM was bought by the RTL group, to become Bel-RTL, which became Belgian national radio, and I left before the merger.
Remained more than 10 years without radio (willingness on my part), I created some radios on the Internet, of which one for the school where I worked and which had an audio-visual project in the school program.
Gone to live in Ivory Coast, a few trials were created. I married the one who was going to leave her name on the radio, 7 years later.
Radio Augusta was born on September 5, 2016.
Having lived all my life listening to pirate radio stations on the North Sea, continuity became logical for me.
The Ivory Coast does not have the same laws as in Europe, so it became obvious that we had to keep the legend alive.
When the dream comes true...
A listener, relentless and probably as crazy as me, told me he had an am transmitter and picked up the signal from Radio Augusta International to broadcast on 1611 Khz in the medium waves. Even if I don't know anything of its position, nor of the material used, the fact is that the medium waves live again, and it is not to displease me. The dream came true in spite of myself. (Broadcast on Am has stopped for the moment).
It would also appear that another listener in Germany also picked up the signal to broadcast in the shortwave.
But if quality is your priority, Radio Augusta International is on the Internet and on your mobile in AAC+.
Animators have made the heyday of radio. I am thinking of Phil from Kansas City (USA), Jan (B), Dj Jo(ex Atlantis), Arthur Burton (ex Northsea & Caroline...), Peter Quinn (ex-Caroline) and others who are listed on another page of this website. Thanks to them.
You can listen to our animators live every evening : Chris Clark from the UK, Pete Matthewman from Australia, Dj Jo from NL, David Angell from USA, Eric NC and Dj Vibe from France, Dimitri K from the USA, Peter Quinn from Great Britain, and me (Didier) from Ivory Coast, The programs are rebroadcast the next morning to allow listeners whose time zone does not allow them to listen in the evening to also benefit from our programs.
After 1 year out of the 1611 KHz in the MW, the station is back at 7pm, everyday on DAB+ Brussels, and 6140 KHz on Friday via the Brazilian Radio Onda.
Thank you for your loyalty, and as I say, we are here because we love you.

Peter Quinn made his radio debut at the United Biscuits Network in Isleworth, Middlesex, but wasn’t there long before moving back to his home town of Nottingham for the opening
of Radio Trent where he hosted mid-mornings from day one.
After two years he got itchy feet and left to explore The Mediterranean with a stint on the Voice of Peace.
On his return he became the first UK DJ to work on multiple stations, combining shows on the likes of Beacon Radio, Radio Tees, Swansea Sound and BBC Lincolnshire.
Peter joined Radio Caroline in November 1983. As with many of his colleagues, the lack of a regular salary finally persuaded him to move on and he left in June 1984.
Since then he has presented on Southern Sound in Sussex, Island Sound Malta, The Hot FM, London’s Country 1035AM, Arrow-FM in Hastings and The Super Station operated by another former Caroline DJ,Dave Miller.
Peter can be heard on a number of stations includingThe Mighty KBCandAtlantis.
Peter is delighted to be aboard Augusta
My name is Pete Matthewman and I hail from Brookfield a growing country town about 50km west of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.
I was the Founder/Host of My Country Australia (Radio Show) from 2014 until 2020 which produced more than 300+ episodes.
In 2020 I started the ‘It’s My Country Radio Show’ and after 46 shows I took a 10 month break due to Covid but in July 2022 I started doing the show again which is now more than 55+ shows old.
My love of country music started about 12 years ago, when I was introduced to Rascal Flatts and ever since that day I have been hooked.
When I started MCA it was predominately American country music that I played for first 4-5 months.
I have found that Australia has some of the best country music artists going around and they then took up most of the show. The ‘It’s My Country Radio Show’ now plays an eclectic mix of country music genres from all over the world.
In my private life, I am married with 2 kids and 4 grandkids, I work fulltime for Netafim Australia and am involved with sporting clubs in my local area.
I also own my very own online Radio Station called IMC Country Radio which can be found at www.imccountryradio.com
I look forward to bringing you all the latest and greatest country music from around the world.

He features music from both sides of the pond, including many successful hits from the USA that had no airplay on UK and European radio and are a breath of fresh air that is a new discovery to most listeners in Europe.
Alongside this there are some great tracks and oldies from European and UK artists that will inspire your listening experience.
A presenter of some considerable experience going back to the 70's and a well known name on Land Based Pirate radio through much of that time, you will be pleasantly surprised if you tune in to Arthur B on Radio Augusta.
(end of its broadcasts since August 2023 but always active in the background)
Along with the music, mentions, fun and information, there is a weekly quiz called "Smash the Intro" a sometimes difficult competition where you have to guess the song from just a very brief snippet.
There is more info. on Arthur Burton here at the Pirate Radio Hall of Fame https://www.offshoreradio.co.uk/djs8b.htm
Arthur passed away on June 2024 at 65.
The shows are rebroadcast on Radio Augusta (see schedule).
